Luke Miller

College I
St. John Vianney Seminary College

Hi. My name is Luke Miller. I am the oldest child of Mark and Johnna Miller. I have three brothers and four sisters. I was born in Great Falls, Montana and my family moved to Norfolk in 2002. With this move, our home parish became Sacred Heart. Sacred Heart parish has been an important part of my life for the past nine and a half years. I have been very involved within the parish, my favorite role being an altar server. We have also been blessed with holy priests at our parish. In 2011, I graduated from Holy Spirit Catholic Homeschool.

The first time I thought about the priesthood was when I was about six. I remember playing Mass when I was younger and loving to go to church. As I got older, the call to the priesthood got stronger. I have been blessed to know many good and holy priests who have been great role models and have helped tremendously with my discernment. Some of the advice that I received from those priests was to give to God first. Since I was trying to discern the priesthood, I figured that I would give God the first chance after high-school and enter seminary to discern his call at a deeper level. I will be starting my freshman year studies at St. John Vianney College Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota. Seminary will give me an opportunity to focus on God and what he wants for my life, while living in a place with many other holy men all striving for the same thing. There is no better place to discern a vocation to the priesthood than at a seminary.

To those men who are thinking about seminary or the priesthood, talk to any priest or seminarian. They can give you advice and guidance or just answer any questions that you may have. But most of all, give God your first and best and he will take bless you and take care of you.
