Dan Maguire
College III
Conception Seminary College
I was born in Chicago, IL and at the age of four moved with my family to Omaha, NE.
My home parish is St. Vincent de Paul, a wonderful parish with a very large community,
led by two very dedicated pastors Fr. Dan Kampschneider and Fr. Joseph Broudou. I
have had the blessing to grow up in their religious education program as well as the
junior high and the amazing high school youth group.
My calling to discern the priesthood was first presented as a question by a good friend
while we were on a pilgrimage in Medjugorje. That submission to the possibility that
God was calling me to serve His Church as a Catholic priest has paved the way for a
greater love for my faith, a deepened spirituality, and most importantly a greater love of
God. I will be starting my priestly formation at Conception Seminary College. I have
been there once already on a visit, and the monks who teach the seminarians are
wonderful. One very great draw for me to study at Conception is the great sense of
quiet, a perfect place to discern a vocation! To all the men in our Archdiocese to
believe that God has prepared a vocation for you to serve Him and His children in this
life whether it be priestly, religious, or married life is to put God before yourself. In my
spare time I like to play electric and acoustic guitar, I like to read books on saints and
spirituality.
To conclude I would like to say that through every step of this discernment of my
vocation to the priesthood I have been blessed by my Mother Mary, who has been so
very helpful in leading me to her Son.
