Definition of Stewardship
Receive God’s gifts gratefully
Send thank-you notes when a gift is received
Pray the morning offering and thank God for each day
Begin prayers with an attitude of thankfulness
End each day with thanks for God’s presence in our lives
Recognize God as the origin of life, giver of freedom and source of all things
View limitations as opportunities for growth and thank God for them
Cherish and tend God’s gifts responsibly
View employment as a way of using God’s gifts
Recycle paper, plastic and metals to preserve natural resources
Pray with anticipation of God’s direction and presence in daily life
Value others’ time and plan meetings effectively
Share God’s gifts with justice and love for others
Thank God for talents and share freely with others (singing, reading, golfing)
Work to strengthen God-given talents through training and education
Recognize and cultivate personal gifts of others and invite others to share
Know that God can never be outdone in generosity
Encourage the parish as a whole to share their gifts of time, talent and treasure with those outside the parish
Perform random acts of kindness
Respect limitations and gifts of others
Return God’s gifts with increase to the Lord
Act to glorify God throughout each day
Share time and talent with parish and community
Give 5% of income to parish, 1% to Archdiocese and 4% to other charities
Give portion of estate back to God
