Have you heard of Natural Family Planning (NFP)? Are you interested in learning more about it? The Family Life Office has developed a three-hour "come and see" class on the beauty of marital intimacy and responsible love, which includes education on the biological foundation of NFP and details on charts and usage statistics -- all in the context of the Church's care for us. The class is led by certified teachers from the Couple-to-Couple League and FertilityCare Centers. Couples attending have the opportunity to ask candid questions on the practice of NFP, as well as spend time in couple prayer and discussion. The cost is $25 per couple. Las Posadas: A Mexican Christmas Tradition

Experience something new this Advent, and teach your family to prepare spiritually for Christmas! All families are invited to share in the celebration of "Las Posadas," (Spanish for "The Inns"), a traditional Mexican gathering for the nine evenings before Christmas, recalling how Mary and Joseph went from inn to inn before finding shelter in a stable in which Christ was born. Las Posadas will be celebrated at various parishes in Omaha in Spanish from Dececember 16-24; this is a great opportunity for bilingual persons and students learning Spanish, as the songs, rosary, and procession will be in Spanish. Theology of the Body Training

On February 11, 2012, the Archdiocese will be offering a training session called Theology of the Body for Teens. While this program is excellent for assisting parents, teachers and catechists with chastity education, familiarizing ourselves with Pope John Paul II's Theology of the Body can help us to see both the physical and spiritual aspects of the sacraments, to understand why good music is necessary for the liturgy, to understand the humanity and divinity of Jesus Christ, and to more fully comprehend our eternal destiny. This is why the training session is valuable for both the married and unmarried, as well as those in marriage prep, for catechists for kindergarten to adults, for parents, for clergy, and even for liturgists. Please click here for the registration flyer. Scholarships are available. Please contact Peter Kennedy with any questions at or 402.557.5610.
