Safe Environment Training

Safe environment trainings have been set for 'all personnel of the Archdiocese, i.e. priests, deacons, paid staff and volunteers who have regular contact with children and young people at the time they enter service in the name of the Church' (Archdiocese of Omaha, Child Protection policy 4a, p15). Initial training sessions run approximately 3 hours. Successful completion of training requires that an individual be present for the entire session.

REMINDER: Ongoing ministry/employees/volunteers working with children must be Safe Environment certified; recertification must be completed before their certification cards expire. Individuals who were certified in the past but have not been active and wish to become active again have a 1 year "grace" period from the expiration date on the original certificate to be eligible for the Video recertification. After that year they will need to take the initial training class again. Re-certification trainings are scheduled at the parish level. Please contact your parish office, principal, DRE, Youth Minister or Safe Environment Contact Person for further information.

Training dates are below. Other trainings may be scheduled by trainers / individual parishes/deaneries/schools. These additional trainings, approved by the chancery and open to the public will be posted on the Archdiocesan web site on a regular basis (www.archomaha.org). All necessary forms will be made available at the time of training.

Please register in advance to the number indicated. A $10 registration fee to cover training costs is required, checks made payable to the Archdiocese of Omaha.

New training dates are continuously being added to this site. Please check back if the above dates do not work for you.
