Nulity of Marriage

The annulment process is one that both honors the sacredness of the marriage bond and recognizes the frailty of humanity.

The church does not dissolve marriage, but looks to see if the union was ever able—from the beginning—to rise to the level of a sacrament, a marriage that is an image of the faithful and permanent love that Christ has for His Bride, the Church.

The annulment process is often misunderstood by many Catholics and non-Catholics alike. Divorced men and women who wish to seek a Catholic Church "Decree of Nullity" (different than a civil annulment . . . and NOT a "Catholic Divorce") should contact the Omaha Archdiocese Marriage Tribunal at 402-558-3100.
